Legislation and Regulations
The Tribunal’s responsibilities and powers are found in different Acts and regulations made by the government of Ontario.

Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA)
The Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA) governs all regulated health professions in Ontario.
Sections 36 to 56 of the Health Professions Procedural Code, which is Schedule 2 to the RHPA, set out the requirements for discipline hearings. Among other things, the Code describes the composition of Tribunal hearing panels, who is a party, hearing processes and the orders the Tribunal may make.
The RHPA has several regulations. The ones considered most often by the Tribunal are listed below:
- Ontario Regulation 59/94: Funding for Therapy or Counselling for Patients Sexually Abused by Members
- Ontario Regulation 260/18: Patient Criteria
- Ontario Regulation 262/18: Prescribed Offences
Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology Act
This act sets out what CASLPO registrants may do when practising audiology or speech-language pathology.
It also has several regulations. The one considered most often by the Tribunal is:

Psychotherapy Act
This act sets out what CRPO registrants may do when practising psychotherapy.
It also has several regulations. The one considered most often by the Tribunal is:
